Founded in 2001, 17a-4 has assisted hundreds of institutions to effectively and efficiently mitigate their regulatory and litigation risk associated with e-messaging, collaboration and social networking content. Our unique strength is combining an extensive knowledge of the existing and proposed regulations with our ability to implement best-practice solutions for electronic records retention.
The company is named after Rule 17a-4 of the Securities and Exchange Act of 1934, which was the first regulation to explicitly outline the technical requirements for mail retention and management. Based on our successes supporting SEC-regulated institutions, we have extended our expertise to other financial institutions and public corporations.
Complementing our e-messaging compliance consulting, we have developed several very successful software products including:
-
DataParser™ - Captures Bloomberg®, Reuters®, Blackberry® SMS, Microsoft SharePoint®, Microsoft Live Meeting®, Microsoft OCS®, LivePerson® and other common e-messaging platforms used in the financial industry.
-
ShArc™ - E-messaging archive based on Microsoft’s SharePoint (MOSS).
In every client engagement, we leverage our expertise and experience to provide effective retention management and legal e-Discovery policies and procedures.
17a-4 is funded and owned by Inclusive Ventures, llc and senior management.
