17a-4 llc announces the addition of Phyllis L. Elin to their e-Dis.co division.  Ms. Elin’s extensive experience in Records Management provides 17a-4 clients expanded Compliance and e-Discovery expertise.    

Sept. 19, 2012 (Millbrook, NY) – Phyllis L. Elin has joined e-Dis.co, a division of 17a-4 llc, as a Regulatory Compliance Officer and Managing Director.  As 17a-4 expands their e-Discovery division, Ms. Elin will provide a broad base of knowledge and extensive expertise to their professional services offerings.

Ms. Elin has been in the field of Information Governance for over twenty five years.  Her experience encompasses consulting work and projects for most major vertical markets including financial services, pharmaceutical, legal, healthcare, universities, publishing, technology and the public sector.  Key offerings include industry-specific Records Retention Schedules, Records Management Policy and Procedures, Vital Records Programs, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning, specialized compliance consulting including PCI Compliance and HIPAA Compliance, Document Management Installations, Compliance Auditing, Imaging Services, etc. Ms. Elin has provided project management and support for firms such as KPMG and Johnson & Johnson.  She worked with KPMG through their NYC and Short Hills, NJ offices to provide expertise and oversight for their hoteling, telecommunications and records center programs with several long term outsourcing projects attached.  The Elin Groups’ work with Johnson & Johnson provided information governance expertise for their Corporate Records Management and PRD divisions, both domestically and internationally.

Before joining e-Dis.co, Ms. Elin was President and Managing Director of The Elin Group, a global Information Governance consulting practice.  Her credits include being a paralegal and an educator in the field of Records and Information Management; with sessions at Simmons College, Suffolk University, the American Management Association and the Boston Computer Society.  In addition, Ms. Elin has been very involved with ARMA, the premier Association of Records Managers and Administrators, serving as an officer, an international liaison for legislative and regulatory affairs and an official ambassador to Europe.  She is a frequent speaker on the various topics of Information Governance and Regulatory Compliance.  Ms. Elin has also published several articles in these fields of endeavor.
